Intermediate Maths Challenge Success at Southborough!

Here at Southborough, we love Maths! And to keep our most able mathematicians on their toes, we ensure that they compete nationally each year in the Intermediate Mathematical Challenge, a 60 minute, 25 multiple choice Challenge. Run by the UK Maths Trust, the Challenge encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought and fluency to make students think.

We were therefore absolutely thrilled to hear, then, that this year we received the best results in the school’s recorded history! 6 students received Gold Awards, 19 Silver Awards and 31 Bronze Awards. Five of our students (1 Year 9 and 4 Year 10/11 students) have been invited to participate in the next level of the competition. Special congratulations to Frank H, Leon M, Olly P and Alfie L!
