The Southborough value of Respect in practice includes respect for our environment. So far the school has developed the biodiversity within the school through the actions of our award-winning Eco Club. The next step in our journey has been to examine options for reducing the school's carbon footprint, and to this end we have made a successful bid to fund installation of electricity-generating Photo-Voltaic panels.
Over the summer, contractors have been busy implementing the installation plan, with panels on our west wing roof as well as on top of the Gyms' roof. With a successful connection to the national grid, Southborough is now a producer of clean energy, as well as reducing our demand for fossil fuel-derived electricity.
