I love being the headteacher of this school. Not only does the progress we have made over recent years fill me with enormous pride, but I also know that this is a school where staff and students work exceptionally well together. We are a school that is going places!
Firstly, our exam results: last year, 63% of our students achieved 5A*-C grades, (including English and Maths); while 40% of students achieved the English Baccalaureate, well above the national and local average. At A Level, 77% of our grades were A*-C: a great platform for university applications or the world of work.
Secondly, our Ofsted report: in December 2013, Southborough High School was rated as "Good", with a particular highlight being: “Students show a pride in their school through their smart appearance and the way that they behave moving to and from their lessons. They are respectful and courteous towards visitors: for example, opening doors for adults during change of lessons or at breaks and lunchtimes.” We believe that an “Outstanding” rating is within our grasp and are working hard to improve even further.
Thirdly, our extracurricular offer: we believe in educating the whole person, which is why we strive to create the very best extracurricular opportunities for our students.
Finally, the future: we believe that in order to thrive, we need to keep innovating and moving forward. Come and join us!
